Lessons Learned

I have been serving in ministry for 27 years and there is only one thing I have figured out – I don’t know everything.

The reality is that the calling of a pastor is very difficult. I once saw a social media post where a pastor was explaining that he suffered PTSD from pastoring a local church. At first, I didn’t pay it too much attention and but did have consider what they said. Ever since this post, I couldn’t agree more to this pastors assessment.

The truth is that most pastors suffer silently with their hurts, habits, and hang-ups. I have a lot rambling in my heart so I decided to start to write about it here. I will be sharing my journey as a pastor in recovery. How I am applying the 12 steps (8 Celebrate Recovery principles) into my life and leadership. What the Lord is doing with this and how He is giving healing and freedom in my life.

My prayer is that others in ministry will stumble on these posts and be encouraged to fight the good fight. I also pray that those NOT in ministry but serve under a local church pastor to stop and pray for your pastor and find ways to support them.

I will be sharing lessons learned as well. These principles can be applied to anybody.

Thanks in advanced for joining me on this journey….
