The other day, I started a fast and my desire was for my passion for Jesus and HIS Word to grow over the next 21 Days, not just to study scripture for a sermon. Then God taught me desire and passion from my 9 year old son.

As I was reading, he came up to me and asked if I was studying for my sermon, hence the core of why I am praying for desire and passion to grow in my life. I told him no and then he asked if he could read with me. Upon hearing yes – he ran to his room and grabbed 3 bibles. We read a little, talked a little, and then later that evening prayed.

The next night he wanted to read again. This time we sat at the kitchen table and read. He wanted to read the account of Noah. So we started in. When he read Genesis 6:8 – “God was pleased with Noah” he smiled ear to ear.

There is nothing like hearing and watching your children read scripture and have a desire to do so. I have learned over the last couple of days that the desire and passion for Jesus and HIS Word is contagious. God used my son for this to grow in my life. My prayer is that I have a faith like his…
